Kanysha R. Burton, Esq.
Kanysha R. Burton, Esq. has over fifteen years of experience advising businesses and organizations on complex transactional and strategic matters across a range of industries. Her background includes work in Big Law, publicly traded companies, and most recently as in-house counsel in Indian Country, where she advised Native American tribes on commercial transactions, construction, real estate, and economic development initiatives.
Through years of In-house practice advising boards and executive leadership, negotiating contracts shaped by business objectives and political considerations, and supporting day-to-day operations, Kanysha has developed a practical, business-minded approach to legal services. She understands the need for legal frameworks that keep pace with the speed of business while managing risk thoughtfully. Her work focuses on tailoring agreements, creating templates and playbooks, and building legal infrastructure that supports growth, asset protection, and operational efficiency.
Kanysha’s advisory experience spans multiple economic cycles, including the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic. She has supported organizations through formation, periods of expansion, restructuring, and wind-down, with a focus on long-term stability and sound governance. Her work includes creating efficiencies in contract processes, structuring businesses for growth, building and scaling legal departments, and hiring and managing legal professionals.
